– The Culture Orangery in Lidzbark Warmiński cordially invite you to the PREMIERE of the book BAJKI POZSTAŁE by Ignacy Krasicki. The remaining fairy tales as volume 4 close the publishing cycle of ALL fairy tales by Ignacy Krasicki with illustrations by Polish Creators of the 21st century. The premiere meeting will take place on 23.11.2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the Culture Orangery in Lidzbark Warmiński. It will be accompanied by an exhibition of illustrations for the premiere book.
The publishing project began with the publication of BAJKI O ZWIERZĘTACH with illustrations by Józef Wilkoń (2021), a year later BAJKI O LUDZIACH with illustrations by Creators of Warmia and Mazury were published, and in 2023 BAJKI Z NATURY were enriched with images by 10 outstanding Polish Illustrators.
Volume 4 of the series contains illustrations by the best Polish artists – visual artists. The publishing house has been honored with their art by: Mateusz Minor, Roch Urbaniak, Wojciech Kołyszko, Robert Czajka, Daniel de Latour, Piotr Fąfrowicz, Jarosław Gach, Mikołaj Kamler, Zbigniew Kołaczek, Tomasz Broda, Artur Gołębiowski, Adam Pękalski.
For each of the volumes of fairy tales in this edition, the afterword was written by exceptional humanists:
Krystyna Stasiewicz – Krasicki’s Fairy Tales for Adult Children, Zbigniew Mikołejko – Philosopher of Sad Laughter and Heilsberg’s Utopia, Grzegorz Leszczyński – Prince of Fairy Tales. Volume 4 is closed by Professor Krzysztof Mrowcewicz with the afterword He got tired at the end, what he wrote about fairy tales – Mr. Krasicki and Mr. Jowialski.
Ignacy Krasicki’s REMAINING FAIRY TALES, as well as the previous volumes of fairy tales prepared in this edition, is an exceptional publication combining the wisdom and philosophy of the 18th pearls of Polish Enlightenment literature with the beauty and artistry of 21st century illustrations. IGNACY KRASICKI was an outstanding resident of Lidzbark Warmiński, where he spent nearly 30 years, serving as Bishop of Warmiński, but also devoting himself to literary work. His fairy tales, despite being over 200 years old, still manage to surprise, make you laugh, and at the same time encourage reflection.
So we invite you to a meeting with Polish art – literature and illustration, and their creators – outstanding representatives of Polish culture.
