Book Launch – The Olsztyn Chronicle and Other Green Poems

14 Jul 2025

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are delighted to announce the BOOK PREMIERE – THE OLSZTYN CHRONICLE AND OTHER GREEN POEMS.

The poetry of Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński has been illustrated by the renowned painter Elżbieta Wasiuczyńska.

We cordially invite you to the PREMIERE MEETING, which will take place on July 24, 2025 – Thursday – at 6:00 PM at the Orangery of Culture in Lidzbark Warmiński.

he publication’s publishers are the “Miej Marzenia” Women’s Association and the Municipal Pedagogical Library – Orangery of Culture in Lidzbark Warmiński, who have published four volumes containing all of Ignacy Krasicki’s fairy tales, illustrated by 36 of the most outstanding Polish illustrators of the 21st century. This volume of Gałczyński’s poetry continues the series, combining literature with beautiful illustrations and featuring works by outstanding artists associated with the Warmia-Masuria region.

The publication includes the title “Olsztyn Chronicle” and the poems “In the Forester’s Lodge,” “Meeting with Mother,” “Dew Shined on the Grass,” and “But There Are Still Small Matters” – all written at the Pranie Forester’s Lodge, as well as the poem “Krasicki’s Grave,” which symbolically connects the author with the publishers.

Each poem was illustrated by Krakow artist ELŻBIETA WASIUCZYŃSKA – a master of nature painting, endowed with exceptional sensitivity, delicacy, and immense talent. The book’s afterword was written by WOJCIECH KASS – poet, essayist, and long-time director of the Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński Museum in Pranie.

Both authors will be present at the launch event, during which we will also present an exhibition of illustrations – original works – created for the book’s launch.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please bow to GREEN KONSTANT and adorn yourselves with shades of the poet’s favorite color!
