Lidzbark Warmiński officially a health resort – a historic day for Warmia

Lidzbark Warmiński, October 24, 2025 – The Council of Ministers has decided to grant Lidzbark Warmiński health resort status. This is a landmark moment in the city’s history, opening a new chapter in its development and restoring its long-standing spa traditions.
During a ceremonial conference at the “Health Pavilion” in Lidzbark Warmiński, it was announced that the formal process has been completed – the document confirming the granting of health resort status has already been approved by the Council of Ministers and is awaiting the Prime Minister’s signature.
The event was attended by, among others, Minister Jakub Stefaniak, MP Urszula Pasławska, Deputy Marshal of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship Sylwia Jaskulska, and Voivode of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship Radosław Król. All emphasized the immense significance of this decision for the future of the region and the city’s economic development.
A return to its spa roots.
Becoming a spa town is not just a formal title – it also symbolizes a return to the historical traditions of Lidzbark Warmiński, which was known as a place of exceptional natural and health benefits a hundred years ago.
As MP Urszula Pasławska emphasized, this success is the result of many years of effort by the local government, experts, and residents. “This is a historic day for Lidzbark Warmiński. Mayor Jacek Wiśniowski has determinedly led the city towards this goal, combining tradition with a vision of modern, ecological development,” she said.

Mayor Jacek Wiśniowski did not hide his emotions:
“It’s a great joy and satisfaction – for me, for the entire team, and above all, for the residents of Lidzbark Warmiński. For years, we have dreamed of our city becoming a spa town again. Today, these dreams are becoming a reality. This is proof that consistent work, cooperation, and faith in local potential truly bring results.” According to the mayor, the status granted opens up new investment, tourism, and ecological opportunities for the city. Lidzbark’s spa character is intended to attract guests seeking relaxation, nature, and health, while strengthening the local economy.
