“In the World of Symbols” exhibition by Wanda Małkowska

In August, the Gallery of Local Artists, located in the Adult Department of the Morąg Municipal Public Library, will host an exhibition of paintings entitled “In the World of Symbols” by Wanda Małkowska.
Wanda Małkowska is a lawyer by training and a passionate photographer and painter. For many years, she has pursued her artistic interests, combining a sensitivity to nature, a fascination with art, and philosophical reflection.
She has presented her photographs and paintings in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums. She is a member of the Masovian Association of Fine Arts Artists and is also active in the Amateur Visual Arts Club in Ostróda.
Emotionally attached to the Morąg region and Ostróda County, she spends a significant portion of each year here. Her works often depict her beloved city – Morąg – which she photographed and presented at a dedicated exhibition. Her paintings and photographs have been presented several times in the Morąg Town Hall Gallery and the Morąg Municipal Public Library.
She says of her work:
“Painting with various techniques, I constantly search for light, space, color… I also search for the unspoken expression of various emotions. In this exhibition, created with dry pastels, I attempt to illuminate the symbolism hidden in the paintings, which leads to a deeper understanding of ourselves. Perhaps these paintings will allow us, even for a moment, to glimpse deeper truths in the reality around us and transcend its material dimension? I experience, I paint, I experiment.”
