This weekend, from June 14 to 16, 2024, one of the most anticipated events in the City of the Dragon will take place – Orneta Days 2024! This unique celebration promises a lot of promising attractions for the whole family. It will be a time to celebrate together the rich history, diverse culture and beautiful traditions.
Orneta’s days are the time when Orneta comes alive even more, and her heart beats to the rhythm of music, dance and laughter. A rich artistic program has been prepared that will satisfy lovers of rap, folk music, pop, rock, jazz and dance music fans alike. Local bands and invited guests from all over Poland will perform on the Ornec stage, presenting a wide range of musical genres.
The event will begin with a traditional parade through the city streets. This year’s theme will be “Avatar Parade”. Amazing costumes, styling, blue make-up – all this you will find in the Ornec sea of Avatars that will flood the Ornec streets. It is worth buying an original costume, because prizes in the form of cash vouchers await the most interestingly dressed parade participants.
Gourmets have not been forgotten either! During the third day of the Ornety Days 2024, the Ornety Days 2024 Fair will be held, where local producers, rural wives’ associations and village communities will present their specialties and handicrafts. It will be an excellent opportunity to try regional delicacies, fresh products from local farms, and traditional dishes prepared according to old Polish recipes. Promotional stands will feature artistic handicrafts: wood products, sculptures, works fired with a pyrograph, decoupage, wool beads, fabric tulips, paper flowers, paintings, paintings on old boards with images of angels, saints and flowers, polymer clay earrings , surgical steel, string bracelets, wooden decorations made of plywood, traditional honey, bee products: bee pollen, propolis, beeswax candles and ceramics and clay products.
Sports enthusiasts will also find something for themselves. The program included: streetball sports competitions, feeder and float fishing competitions, and an open table tennis tournament. For the youngest, there are numerous games, activities, animations and inflatable playgrounds that will provide them with a lot of fun and outdoor activities.
One of the attractions bringing unforgettable impressions will be Introductory Flights over Orneta with a Cessna 150 aircraft and a static presentation of aircraft, organized thanks to the cooperation of the Mayor of Orneta Katarzyna Lasocka, the Reduta Orneta Association and the Elbląg Aero Club. The departure point will be centered on the landing site in Orneta. One flight will last approximately 10 minutes. To ensure safety during the event, the passage at the level of the runway will be blocked. Access to the starting point will be possible from the town of Bażyny.
Orneta invites all city residents and guests from other towns to participate in this unique event. Orneta Days 2024 is a perfect opportunity to rediscover the charm of this place, learn about its history and culture and spend unforgettable moments with your loved ones.
