The exhibition “Kresy Etudes” by Piotr Dondajewski in Olecko

Next week, we invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Kresy Etudes” by Piotr Dondajewski, a visual artist and painter associated with Mrągowo.
The paintings on display, inspired by motifs from the Eastern Borderlands, captivate with their rich colors.
The opening will take place on January 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the A. Legus Gallery of True Art at the ROK (Olecko, Plac Wolności 22, entrance from the music school, 2nd floor). Admission is free.
The exhibition will be open during ROK “MG” opening hours from January 16 to February 16, 2026.

A visual artist born in Zamość. A graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts / Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, he currently works in the field of fine arts. From 1978 to 1983, he worked in industrial design at the Stomil Grudziądz GZPGum and the Mrągowo Woodworking Cooperative. From 1980 to 1983, he was an instructor and director of the Youth Cultural Center, and from 1983 to the present, a teacher/lecturer in secondary and primary schools in Mrągowo. Since 1981, he has been a member of the Polish Artists and Design Association (ZPAP), and from 2002 to 2013, he was the president of the Olsztyn District Board. He initiated the agreement between the Union and Lietuvos Dailininku Sajunga in Vilnius. He initiated and organized solo exhibitions (including his own) and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He also created the visual design and logo for the Borderland Culture Festival in Mrągowo. A member of the Society of Friends of Vilnius and the Vilnius Region in Mrągowo, an honorary member of the Association of Polish Military Traditions in Mrągowo, a Polish Scouting and Guiding Association instructor, and a member of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Lviv. He lives and works in Mrągowo.
Piotr Dondajewski has received numerous awards:
– The “Meritorious Cultural Activist” badge awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2005).
– Second-degree award at the 4th Olsztyn Biennale of Fine Arts (“For the President’s Medal,” 2005).
– Award of the Mayor of Olsztyn (2007).
