Unveiling of the mural “Musical legend of Szczytno – mural commemorating Krzysztof Klenczon”

06 Sep 2024

On September 21, 2024 at 5:00 p.m., the mural “Musical legend of Szczytno – mural commemorating Krzysztof Klenczon” will be unveiled on the wall of the Municipal Cultural Center in Szczytno, at ul. Polska 12.
Krzysztof Klenczon, an icon of Polish music, is an artist whose youth is associated with Szczytno. It was here that he grew up, went to school and began his adventure with music. The inspiration for his compositions were the Masurian lakes, including Lake Domowe Małe and Lake Domowe Duże located in Szczytno. The mural will become a tribute to his artistic heritage.
The mural will be another point on the Krzysztof Klenczon Trail in Szczytno, which consists of: the Family Home at ul. 3 Maja, the monument at the Municipal Cultural Center, the square, the memorial hall on the Town Hall Tower, the fountain, the grave at the municipal cemetery and K. Klenczon Street.

The ceremony will be graced by a concert by the Żuki band, which will play songs by the legendary group Czerwone Gitary. This is a great opportunity to jointly celebrate the memory of an outstanding musician.

In addition, the Municipal Cultural Center will host a presentation of Jerzy Jabłoński’s historic music media from the years 1900-1950.
We cordially invite you to participate in this unique ceremony.

The project is co-financed from the funds of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship Self-Government as part of the “Łączy nas turystyka” competition in 2024.
