XXXIII Economic Forum, Karpacz (3-5 September 2024)

On September 3rd this year, the XXXIII edition of the Economic Forum will begin at the Gołębiewski Hotel in Karpacz – one of the largest economic and political events in Central and Eastern Europe. The Forum, during which leaders with a decisive influence on the fate of Poland, Europe and the world meet, is organized by the Institute of Eastern Studies. The main partner of the Economic Forum is the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Partners of the Economic Forum include: the City of Karpacz, the City of Wrocław, the Nicolaus Copernicus Wrocław Airport, the Lower Silesian Agency for Economic Cooperation. The XXXIII edition of the Economic Forum will be held in Karpacz on September 3-5, 2024 under the slogan “Time for new leaders: shaping the future together”. This year’s edition of the Forum will be attended by over 6,000 guests from Poland and around the world. The Forum will feature, among others: 350 debates and 6 plenary sessions, numerous panel discussions, special events, workshops, press conferences, galas and concerts.

The guests of the Forum are presidents, heads of government, ministers, politicians and local government officials, CEOs of corporations, people of culture, renowned scientists, opinion-forming journalists and representatives of non-governmental organizations. For three days, the Economic Forum in Karpacz becomes a key place for discussions on the most important challenges shaping the present and future of Europe.

The most important topics discussed during the XXXIII Economic Forum include: economy, finance, security, green energy, development of artificial intelligence. The program will also abound in special events, one-on-one conversations, presentations and lectures, and author meetings. During this year’s edition, one of the key threads will be the thematic path organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the largest Polish Universities – AI Forum, within which experts from Poland and Europe will discuss the most important topics related to artificial intelligence and its impact on the future of Poland.
During the XXXIII Economic Forum, the “SGH and Economic Forum Report 2024” will be presented, the most comprehensive scientific study on the state of the economy in Poland and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The report, developed by experts from the leading university in the country – the Warsaw School of Economics in cooperation with the Economic Forum, describes current trends and socio-economic phenomena, enabling leaders of various areas to make effective decisions. A permanent element of the Economic Forum are awards granted to outstanding figures and key companies and organizations in the following categories: Person of the Year, Company of the Year and Non-Governmental Organization of the Year. The Forum also has a rich cultural and recreational program, including meetings with authors, concerts, film screenings and presentations of tourist attractions of the Lower Silesia region.
