Exhibition “The Art of Memory. Freedom of Space – Intertwining Matter”

The Barczewo Cultural and Library Center cordially invites you to a unique artistic event in Barczewo – an exhibition of Anna Korybut-Dziemidowicz’s work entitled “The Art of Memory. Freedom of Space – Weaves of Matter,” which will take place on October 3, 2026, at the Treasury of European Culture in Barczewo, at 5:00 PM.
Anna Korybut-Dziemidowicz is an artist, painter, textile artist, and one of the few artists in Poland specializing in banner embroidery. She has been associated with Barczewo for years, and her work represents a unique blend of art, traditional craftsmanship, history, and symbolism.
The artist designs and creates banners, pennants, banners, embroidered paintings, and portraits, and also works on the conservation and restoration of historic banners. Her works are handmade, with incredible precision and attention to detail. Her portfolio includes over a hundred banners and hundreds of other embroidery projects made for schools, public institutions, organizations and uniformed services.
The exhibition at the Treasury of European Culture will be a unique opportunity to view works that normally fulfill symbolic functions and are not presented to the general public. Bringing them together in one place will allow us to discover not only the artist’s extraordinary craftsmanship but also the world of signs, symbols, and stories imprinted on fabric.
The exhibition will encompass various areas of Anna Korybut-Dziemidowicz’s work – from painting and textile art to flagship art. It is a story about works that are more than just objects. They convey memory, identity, and values important to entire communities and institutions.
It will also be an opportunity to see the extraordinary artistic achievements emerging in our city. Anna Korybut-Dziemidowicz’s work, although deeply rooted in Barczewo, has a dimension that extends far beyond its local context.
The event will be highlighted by performances by the Moderato Choir and the Ojdana Ensemble. We invite you to an encounter with art, history, and tradition – and with the exceptional craftsmanship of an artist whose works have accompanied important events and celebrations for years, becoming part of the memory of many communities.
