Meeting of the national authorities of the Cittaslow network.

The West Pomeranian town of Sianów, on September 29 – October 1, hosted representatives of the Polish National Network of Cittaslow Cities and regional governments, who accepted the invitation to a conference devoted to the “Cittaslow Idea in the development of Polish cities on the example of the Warmia and Mazury region”. This event took place on the occasion of the 9th edition of the Folk Film Festival.

Jolanta Piotrowska, a member of the voivodeship board, present at the event, presented the history of cooperation between the local government of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and the national and international structures of the Association of Cities of Good Quality of Life – Cittaslow. Western Pomerania was represented at the conference by the Vice-Marshal of the Voivodeship, Mr. Tomasz Sobieraj. It was also an excellent opportunity for direct talks with city authorities from the province. West Pomeranian Voivodeship, who expressed interest in joining the national network of cities under the sign of the orange snail. In addition to the National Coordinator of the Polish Cittaslow Network, Jacek Kostka, the meeting was also attended by the mayors of Lidzbark Warmiński, Działdowo, Pasym, Reszel, Olsztynek, Olecko, Orneta and Kisielice.

A meeting of the Cittaslow National Coordinating Committee was also held in Sianów, during which the 15th anniversary of the network was summarized and events planned for 2023. Next year’s Cittaslow Cities festival will be hosted by Orneta, while the international authorities of the Cittaslow network will meet in mid-April in Reszel. 16 local governments took part in the conference.
