“As long as the music plays in us” – an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Witold Podgórski

09 May 2024

When the day dawns in the studio and the birds start talking, the brush distributes colors on the canvas, a true, honest and strong painting is born, a painting that will soon tell its own story. Waiting for people who need him in good times and bad.
This is the meaning of my painting.

~ Witold Podgórski

The Museum of Folk Architecture – Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek cordially invites you to the latest exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Witold Podgórski entitled “As long as the music plays in us.” The opening will take place on May 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the Showroom in Olsztynek, ul. Zamkowa 1. The event is open to the public.

Witold Podgórski acquired his artistic education as a free student at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk under the supervision of prof. Kazimierz Ostrowski. He cooperates with the “Rempex” auction house in Warsaw and with galleries in Poland and abroad. In his paintings, he talks about man, expresses his thoughts and the music of his soul. He subjectively combines line and color, expressing the emotions of the moment. Rome, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, New York – these are just a few cities where the artist presented his work.

The exhibition featured 60 works by the artist. Three collections of paintings were presented: a colored line, a white line and a gray line. The exhibition delights with its diversity and familiarizes the viewer
with graphic techniques used by the artist.

It is impossible to talk about Witold Podgórski without also mentioning his iconic Fiddler. It is a drawing that is created spontaneously during the artist’s travels around the world. The violinist can be assigned the status of a kind of sign that the artist leaves behind, meeting fascinating people on his life’s journey.

During the opening, one person among all the event guests will become the lucky owner of the Fiddler.

Witold Podgórski himself will guide you through the exhibition.

We cordially invite you!
