The battle of Napoleon's time
About 300 historical reinactors from different parts of Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia and the Czech Republic will take part in the XIII Reconstruction of the Battle of Heilsberg. On June 8, 2019 in Lidzbark Warmiński the spectators will see a spectacle with infantry, cavalry and artillery.
The Battle of Heislberg of 1807 is the biggest battle of the Napoleonic period in the present-day Poland. About 140 thousand soldiers fought on both sides (the French and the Russian-Prussian Emperor).
will begin on 7 June in the castle of the bishops of Warmia by promoting books by Oleg Sokołow (at 5 p.m.) and a lecture by Tomasz Strzeżek PhD "Napoleon in Warmia". (6 p.m.). On the 8th of June on the promenade near the High Gate improvised reconstruction scenes were planned (10.00-13.00).
On that day, on the battlefield at Warmian Therms (Kąpielowa Street) at 11:00 a.m., the Historical Fair will begin, which will last until 7:00 p.m. It will include: visiting the reconstructors camp (11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.), demonstrations of historical drill (12:00 p.m.), an outdoor painting workshop combined with an exhibition titled " Not just in galloping". "Not only in gallops. (12:00-15:00), presentation of Napoleon's staff tent (12:30) and cavalry drill show (13:00). The culmination of the day will be a spectacular reconstruction of the battle, which will start at 16.00. The event will end with a costume dance to the fire and live music, with regional dance workshops and a fire dance show (21.00).
